Sometimes just talking isn’t enough.

Grief Movement

A whole body approach to healing the pain and struggle of grief

Grief has a huge impact on us both psychologically and physically. It is natural to feel ‘heart-broken’ or that we are no longer whole, as if some part of us was literally missing.

This can lead you to feel trapped in both your loss and the overwhelming pain of that loss. Especially when the pain and struggle of grief becomes ‘stuck’ in your body.

Grief Movement is an embodied approach which uses movement, breath and sound to gently and effectively allow sadness and anger to move through.

It gives you simple exercises and techniques to help you release the struggle and pain of grief. This in turn enables you to discover a space where you can gain new insights, harmony, appreciation, love and forgiveness.

This transformative movement practice is done from the comfort of a chair. So, it doesn’t matter how physically active or able you are. You always get to decide the intensity of the movements and how you move. It is more about emotional liberation than physical flexibility.

As a certified Grief Movement Guide, I will:

  • Gently guide you to use movement, breath, and sound to break though the heaviness of your grief.

  • Choose specific exercises, movements, and meditations to meet your individual needs.

  • Help you understand your grief and share the ‘Cycle of Compassionate Transformation’ to help you release pain and move towards peace.

  • Offer you a safe space in which to share your loss and vulnerability while also embracing your strength.

  • Teach you techniques to move through anger, guilt, and regrets.

Grief Movement therapy can empower you to transform pain into peace and purpose – allowing you to honour your loss but release the struggle of grief.
